Thomas Skidmore

Former Chairman, CEO, and President of GLENTEL Inc., Founder of WIRELESSWAVE brand in 1997, along with GLENTEL retail brands – TBooth and Wireless Etc. Corporate retail stores grew to over 350 stores across Canada. Through his leadership and strategic vision, GLENTEL expanded to more than 1,400 corporate and franchised locations in Canada, the United States, Australia and the Philippines. 

Thomas has more than 40 years of entrepreneurial and operational experience, built and sold numerous businesses and has extensive public and private company board experience. Involved in growing two franchise systems: TCGI (Speedy, Novus, Apple Auto Glass) and WirelessZone (Verizon dealer). 

Named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2013 by Ernst & Young as the President and CEO of GLENTEL Inc. Recipient of the Queen's medal commemorating Her Majesty's 60th Anniversary. An active member on the Advisory Board of Salvation Army BC South region and was the Chair of the Advisory Board for more than 10 years. In 2014, Skidmore was inducted into the Salvation Army’s Order of Distinguished Service, their highest world award. Served on the Board of BC Women's Hospital Foundation for 12 years. 

Former EVP & CMO of GLENTEL's retail brand development, store design and construction. Brands included WIRELESSWAVE, Tbooth wireless, and Costco Wireless Etc. kiosks in Canada, Diamond Wireless and Wireless Zone in United States and  Allphones in Australia.  Prior to GLENTEL, worked for Speedy Glass, Autostock Inc,  Glenayre Technologies Inc.

Volunteer Director, Committee lead & Chairperson for 

Non-profit organizations Cityreach Care Society and Broadway Lodge.

Past Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GLENTEL for 10 years. 

 
Chartered Professional Accountant, holding a CPA, CA designation. Bachelor of Business with concentrations in Accounting and Finance, Simon Fraser University. Over 20 years of domestic and international public and private company financial leadership and operational experience with significant experience in public company requirements, mergers and acquisitions, bank financing, treasury management, leading a fast-paced growth company, financial and operational management, project management, team building and relationship management. 

Named BC CFO of the Year by BIV in 2014 and named CFO of the Year by Finance Monthly Magazine in 2015 and 2016.

Past Director of Finance of GLENTEL Inc. 

Spent 17 years with GLENTEL, working in progressively responsible leadership roles. Brings over 25 years of business, finance, and operational leadership experience in the retail, wholesale, and service industries. Played a key role in a successful divisional turnaround and led a number of M&A initiatives. Chartered Professional Accountant, holding a CPA, CMA designation. 

 
Prior to GLENTEL, spent 9 years at Mohawk Oil Canada, managing the finance functions for over 300 corporate and franchise retail fuel and convenience stores and the bulk/wholesale fuel business.
